This 18 inch long fireplace grate will help you achieve a better quality burn by lifting the wood off the floor of your small hearth and allowing air to circulate underneath, making your fire hotter and more efficient. Smaller pieces of burned wood fall to the fireplace floor through the openings in the grate, creating a bed of hot coals and allowing your fire to burn from the bottom up.
