Yard hydrants are outdoor faucets that are tapped into buried water supply pipes to provide year-round access to running water for landscaping, grounds-maintenance, livestock and fire-protection applications. They allow users to access water outdoors without having to connect a faucet to the building's plumbing and they are designed to provide immediate water flow even when the temperature drops below freezing.
